Eight different sports expected to feature in two years time
Malta and Gozo have been announced as the hosts for the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2027.
Commonwealth Sport says the event in two years time will take place across four main venue clusters across the two Islands.
Furthermore, eight different sports are expected to feature, including Sailing and Water Polo which will be appearing in the games for the first time.
The other disciplines set to be included are Athletics and Para Athletics; Netball; Squash; Swimming and Para Swimming; Triathlon and Weightlifting.
Commonwealth Sport expects the event to welcome around 1,150 athletes aged between 14 and 18 from 74 nations and territories.
At the most recent games in Trinidad and Tobago in 2023, the Isle of Man took a team of seven competitors returning with two bronze medals.
Both of those medals were won by cyclist Ruby Oakes in the Women's Road Race and Women's Individual Time Trial.
