2024 Southern 100 Road Races getting underway

Club delighted with 'stellar lineup' for Billown Course meeting this week

The 2024 Southern 100 Road Races are due to get underway in the south of the Island this evening.

This year's meeting is taking place from 8-11 July with 15 races planned on the 4.25-mile Billown Course.

Another strong lineup of riders is expected across all the classes including multiple previous champions in both the solos and sidecars.

It starts tonight (8 July) with the opening qualifying session with roads around the course shutting at 6.05pm and reopening no later than 9.40pm.

There will then be two further sessions between 6.05pm and no later than 9.40pm tomorrow and Wednesday (9-10 July) which will involve the remaining qualifying sessions and first four races of the meeting.

Two sets of road closures are then planned for the other nine races on Thursday, 11 July with course roads shut between 9.30am and 12.45pm - highways will then briefly reopen before closing again from 1.30pm until no later than 4.45pm.

All timings may be subject to change at short notice depending on prevailing conditions and circumstances.
