The Isle of Man's preparing to mark Armed Forces Day on Sunday (30 June) a day after commemorations in the UK.
Prime minister David Cameron has encouraged the public to show their support to the "extraordinary men and women" of the military.
Nottingham's hosting the main event, with a parade and display from the Red Arrows.
In the Island, several hundred forces' veterans will march along Douglas Promenade behind a group of around 25 current service men and women.
The parade sets off at 3pm to the Villa Marina where the day culminates in afternoon tea and an evening of entertainment at which young people mingle with veterans.
Cadets and school pupils from around the Island are supporting the event, now in its seventh year.
