The Treasury minister has told Tynwald government is determined to ensure going to work is a better option for young adults, than living on benefits.
Eddie Teare told the court an 18-20 year old earning the minimum wage in a full-time job and entitled to housing benefit, was more than £37 per week better off than a jobless person claiming state benefits.
Mr Teare said a current review of the benefit system would look closely at how the costs of going to work, could be reduced.
