Young man with rare disease requires specific wheelchair
A local boy with a rare disease is crowd funding for a new wheelchair.
Joseph Fleming is the only person on the Isle of Man to suffer from Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
The disease is genetic and affects the part of the nervous system that controls voluntary muscle movement.
Joseph has relied on a wheelchair the majority of his life, however, after almost a decade of use, it is in need of replacement.
The NHS is unable to provide him with one so Joseph has set up a JustGiving page to raise money for a new one.
His target for a new chair is £25,000 and he is currently just short of five and a half thousand.
