Crossroads Care is holding a conference next month to generate support for young carers.
The event at the Villa Marina will aim to raise awareness of children and teenagers who take on adult levels of responsibility.
This can be in the form of looking after parents and grandparents who suffer from chronic or mental illness, disability or addiction.
Karen Davies from Children Services outlines what she hopes the conference will achieve: (play audio clip)
The conference is at the Villa Marina on May 9, from 1:30pm to 5pm, and is open to the public.
