Neap tides should help mitigate significant impacts
A yellow weather warning has been issued for coastal overtopping.
It will be in force from 4pm to 7:30pm today (27 January).
Forecasters say 'with gale force south-easterly winds continuing for most of the day, some further minor coastal overtopping of water and slight debris is expected around the hours of the next high tide in the early evening (5:50pm).
Significant impacts should be mitigated as we are experiencing neap tides - when there is least difference between high and low water.
The areas most likely to be impacted are: Douglas promenade, Castletown promenade, parts of Shore Road (Rushen), and to a lesser extent Laxey and Ramsey promenades.
