Yellow alert for severe gales issued

The warning comes into effect at 3am on Sunday morning, and ends at 11pm the same day

Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow alert for severe gales, coming into force in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Forecasters expect gusts of up to 65mph in some areas which could lead to some travel delays and a risk of tree damage.

Predictions suggest the strongest winds are likely between late morning and late afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Steam Packet Company has placed question marks over Saturday's (21 December) evening trip (7.45pm) and the subsequent 2.15am return the following day.

A decision is expected to be made by 5.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
