Claims chartered aircraft unable to stay at Ronaldsway
The hopes of a number of fans of Wythenshawe Amateurs football team - which was seeking to travel to the Island this weekend - have reportedly been dashed.
The club says it had chartered an 88-seat aircraft for their game against FC Isle of Man on Saturday only to be told it couldn't secure somewhere at Ronaldsway Airport to leave the plane overnight.
The club made the claims on social media.
The Manchester-based outfit has managed to get flights and accommodation for some supporters ahead of the crucial play-off fixture which takes place at the Bowl in Douglas.
We are sorry to report that we have been unable to get a charter jet to fly our fans to the Isle of Man & back. It looked positive this morning when we had aircraft confirmed & a departure time but then our hopes were dashed when we could not secure a landing time or a place.....
