The cream of the crop of marine researchers with an interest in basking sharks will gather in the Isle of Man this weekend.
The Island is hosting the first ever international conference on basking shark conservation, with formal proposals for United Kingdom protection zones on the agenda.
The conference will draw experts from around the world to discuss the gentle giants.
