
There is sometimes a reluctance amongst the Manx public to report suspicious or anti-social behaviour, according to Inspector Ken Kneale of the Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Team.
He says that people who COULD provide valuable information to assist in prosecutions are sometimes put off, possibly for fear of repercussions in a what is a small and often tight-knit community.
But Inspector Kneale says that police are sensitive to those concerns, and that officers would rather deal with calls that may NOT lead anywhere than not be contacted at all:
