10 Manx workers take firm to tribunal
Ten Island workers are taking a cleaning firm to a tribunal after failing to be paid.
It relates to work carried out at Ballakermeen High School by Ashbrook Facilities Management (AFM).
AFM - which has bases in both the Republic and Northern Ireland - won a tender process from the Department of Infrastructure to clean both the school as well as additional work at the Sea Terminal.
However, Manx Radio understands there's now a dispute over wages being owed to ten workers, all of whom are based on the Isle of Man.
Government's Procurement Division has remained tight-lipped over why the DoI opted for an Irish company over a local cleaning business.
One government employee told us they 'can't provide any information on the matter'.
It's unclear at the moment just how much is owed in total for the work which took place between July and September this year.
