Land at Johnny Watterson's Lane needed for burial plots at Douglas Lawn Cemetery
Almost 100 allotments on Johnny Watterson's Lane will have to relocate to a new space in 2028 to make way for more burial plots at Douglas Lawn Cemetery.
The land was purchased by Douglas Council in 2000, with the area not immediately needed by the cemetery released as allotments.
However, the local authority says forecasts show additional space will be needed at the cemetery within the next four years, so work is underway to secure a new site for use as allotments from 2028.
