
A day after the Isle of Man remembered its war dead, the committee set up to oversee the preservation of its war memorials says it’s vital its work goes on.
The Preservation of War Memorials Committee develops databases of memorials and graves and submits an annual report to the Council of Ministers.
More than 150 monuments to the Island's war heroes have been identified, and committee member and war veteran Hector Duff says they remain a fitting tribute to the sacrifices made (play audio file):
