Underwater valve found to be defective during recent routine inspection
Manx Utilities says Kerrowdhoo Reservoir in Onchan will be able to accommodate all the water currently being drained from the nearby Clypse Reservoir.
The work is necessary to replace an underwater valve in the Clypse, which was found to be defective during a recent routine inspection.
Manx Utilities is working with DEFA's Inland fisheries officers to ensure the safe transfer of remaining fish stocks within the Clypse to the neighbouring Kerrowdhoo.
The work to replace the faulty valve is being carried out by the specialist company that installed it more than 20 years ago, and is expected to cost in the region of £50,000.
