MHK says he won't support government's plans to relax current rules
Work permits work 'perfectly well' according to an MHK who says he won't support government's proposals to suspend the current system.
Douglas North member John Wannenburgh says the existing set-up allows those who bring skills to the Island to come here for work, while protecting those in unskilled roles.
The enterprise minister is set to seek support for a relaxation of work permits at this month's Tynwald sitting, but insists some checks will still be in place.
But Mr Wannenburgh thinks the change is unnecessary:
