Shakeup of system in force this week
Changes to the Island’s work permit system which come into force this week will still protect Manx workers.
That’s according to Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly, whose department administers the scheme.
He says discussions with industries and business on the Island showed there was a demand for some tweaks to the rules, which will come into force on Thursday.
Mr Skelly explained what it’ll mean for those applying for posts, as well as those trying to fill them:
Inquest into death of MGP competitor continues
Manx Utilities apologises for road closure amid 'essential maintenance'
Teen accused of wounding with intent to murder appears in court
Section of Quarterbridge Road to close for tree works
