It was due to reopen 21 January
Work on the road outside the National Sports Centre (NSC) will be extended into March.
Since 7 November 2024 Groves road in Douglas has been closed between the northern and southern entrances to the car park of the NSC for new drainage to be installed.
It was meant to reopen on 21 January however due to 'extra works' added onto the job it will now only open 15 March.
Douglas South MHK, Claire Christian says once the drainage infrastructure is in place, the affected section of Groves Road will be fully resurfaced adding the DOI will also upgrade the bus stops serving the NSC, install kassel kerbs to improve accessibility and refurbish the pedestrian crossing.
