'Words are not enough' to thank Manx people for remembering North Barrule aircraft crash

Relatives travel from USA to commemorate 80th anniversary

'Words are not enough' to thank the people of the Isle of Man for continuing to remember the North Barrule aviation accident 80 years on.

That's from a relative of one of the 31 men who died when a US military aircraft crashed into the hill on this day in 1945.

Donald Madar's great uncle, Andy Piter Jr, was a technician and was 22 when he died in the tragedy.

Don has made the journey with some of his family members from Pennsylvania, which is also where Andy was from.
