A 45-year-old man who assaulted a woman has been jailed for 30 days.
Henry George Babb, of Quine's Corner in Douglas, admitted punching the woman four times, although the court heard only two blows connected.
Deputy High Bailiff Alastair Montgomerie heard the woman suffered swelling around her face after the attack, which happened in a lane near the British Hotel in the early hours of January 30.
After the woman called him a 'druggie', Babb followed her but claimed he hadn't intended to assault her.
Mr Montgomerie told Babb if he hadn't been so drunk, the incident would probably never have happened.
