Police are investigating an apparently unprovoked assault in Port Erin, in which a man received facial injuries.
It happened around 10.30pm on Saturday at the rear of Darnill's Garage.
Police say the victim was was minding his own business, walking home after a night out, when he was attacked by another man.
He received injuries to his mouth which may require dental treatment.
Police are stressing it's an isolated incident and the people of Port Erin should not be alarmed.
The area was quite busy at the time of the assault and anyone who has information is asked to ring the police station in Port Erin on 832222, or send an email to snpt@gov.im
