Winterfest this weekend

Celebration of Manx Christmas traditions

Preparations for a 'unique Manx concert' are in their final throes.

Manannan’s Winterfest takes place this Friday (7 Dec) - and Culture Vannin has released a sneak preview of Alexandra Slater rehearsing "Oikan ayns Bethleham".

The concert is described as "celebrating Manx Christmas traditions, through a collaboration of classical, folk, brass and choral music, with a sprinkle of local humour and drama added to the mix!"

Contributors to the event include opera singer Kate Dowman, folk harpist Mera Royle, the Michael Players, the Ramsey Town Band, the Manx Voices choir, Gareth Moore on piano, plus a range of other leading musicians such as David Kilgallon, Malcolm Stitt, Jamie Smith, Kirsty & Katie Lawrence.
