The Public Health Directorate is warning people not to spread the Winter Vomiting Virus – as the traditional peak time for the illness approaches.
Leaflets and posters will be sent to schools, and presentations held for nurses and residential home staff to show how they can stop the virus spreading.
Director of Public Health Dr Parameswaran Kishore says measures such as staying at home for 48 hours after symptoms have subsided and regular hand-washing can stop the illness being passed on to others.
And he says people shouldn’t risk infecting patients and staff at hospitals.
