The infrastructure minister has defended the decision to reallocate taxpayer money, originally earmarked for reinstating the horse trams, to another project.

In 2017, the Department of Infrastructure was granted funding to restore the track to the Sea Terminal, but it currently only extends as far as Broadway.

Despite redirecting the funds, Tynwald was not consulted, sparking fierce criticism, with some politicians calling it a 'slap in the face'.

Costing proposals are expected to be submitted to the DoI in the coming days, but it remains uncertain whether this administration will finalise the proposals.
