
The member of Tynwald who called for the decision on de-limiting the Island's taxi industry to be delayed is defending the move.
David Callister, MLC successfully argued the debate on changes to the Road Transport Act should be adjourned until December.
If the plans are eventually approved it would allow new operators into what has traditionally been a tightly regulated industry.
The matter had already been put off once, when a 12 month extension to the transition period was supported in 2005.
However, Mr Callister (pictured) doesn't think the latest delay shows an inability on the part of Tynwald to make difficult decisions.
He says the matter still hasn't gone through the proper process:
