Union boss laments loss of negotiating body
A union head says the end of the Whitley Council is a sad day and the ‘demise of a good negotiating body’.
The newly formed Public Services Commission started operating yesterday, amalgamating the Civil Service Commission and Whitley Council as the body which negotiates pay and conditions for public sector staff.
The PSC will be responsible for around 4,000 staff, about half of all public sector employees.
