Committee hears of open door policies within Government
The whistleblowing policy is a last resort for most staff.
So claims Chief Secretary and Head of the Island's Civil Service, Will Greenhow.
He was giving evidence at today's (Thurs) sitting of the Tynwald Select Committee investigating whistleblowing. The committee, chaired by Julie Edge MHK, was set up last year to look into the effectiveness of the Manx Government's whistleblowing policy.
Mr Greenhow told them that he believed the number of whistleblowing cases was low as a lot of cases were being resolved with open door policies at managerial level:
The other members of the committee are Jane Poole-Wilson MLC and Kerry Sharpe MLC.
