Whistleblowers 'disappointed' by comments in Tynwald debate

Chair says some remarks were out of order

The chair of the whistleblowing committee says there was disappointment over some of the comments from her colleagues during a debate on the panel's report.

Tynwald approved a number of changes to government's whistleblowing policies but a number of the committee's recommendations were amended by government.

Julie Edge welcomed changes to the integrity line but felt members shied away from supporting a full statutory framework.

She told Manx Radio she wasn't happy with the tone of some contributions:

Ms Edge has confirmed she'll be seeking re-election in Onchan in September's General Election.
