The Island’s Careers Service says times may be tough but it’s still possible to leave school and get a job.
Yesterday’s (Thursday) record GCSE results may mean many students stay on for higher education but a significant proportion may want to enter the workplace immediately.
Andrew McKinley, manager of the Careers Service, says it won’t be as easy to find work as it has been in previous years because of the economic slowdown in the Island.
But he says anybody who does want a job can ask the service for advice.
