A trip to London to meet MPs and Lords won the support of friends old and new, says Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan.
He and president of Tynwald Noel Cringle led a delegation to Westminster to garner support for the Island following recent criticisms by United Kingdom politicians in the wake of the Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander affair.
In particular, Mr Rodan wanted to allay fears about the Island’s relationship with Britain after remarks made by UK Chancellor Alistair Darling.
Mr Rodan says yesterday’s visit was a great success:
Planning application for onshore wind farm still being developed
Motorcyclist suffered fatal chest injuries in crash
Trial for trio accused of producing Class A drugs to Island
Too early for 'direct action' over cost-of-living concerns says chief minister
