Inspector Flint tells people to check cars
We aren't "there to mollycoddle" drivers, so check your own cars - that's the stern message from police as it continues to pull people over for faulty lights.
Officers stopped over a dozen drivers on one night last week.
The Roads Policing Unit pulled them over for driving without headlights, or with broken brake lights, and using fog lights inappropriately.
Each said they didn't remember the last time they'd had their cars checked.
Inspector Derek Flint talked live on Mandate this morning about why he thinks that's unacceptable:
Overnight sailings cancelled due to adverse weather
Rapist who 'terrorised' his victim told his sentence was 'entirely justified'
Complaints process for health system changed
Discovery of oiled birds 'makes a mockery of our biosphere status'
