Weather forces ferry cancellation

Tonight's Ben-my-Chree sailing from the Isle of Man to Heysham has been cancelled because of the weather.

A severe gale force nine wind is forecast for the Irish Sea.

All passengers due to travel this evening have been transferred onto tomorrow morning's 08.45 sailing.

Those due on the overnight crossing from Heysham will be booked on to the afternoon sailing tomorrow.

The Steam Packet has been contacting passengers to let them know, and anyone who needs further information can call 661 661.

The Ben -my -Chree is expected to be up to two hours late arriving in Douglas tonight because of a late departure from Heysham this afternoon.
