Family of man who suffered brain injury prepare their home for his return
An Isle of Man family is raising money to make alterations to their home ahead of their son returning after 18 months in hospital.
Since the age of 14, Ethan Richardson has been managing his diabetes, but in September 2024, at the age of 27, the father of one suffered a hypoglycaemic brain injury.
He's been in hospital since - first at Nobles Hospital, before being transferred in December 2024 to the Sid Watkins Rehabilitation Centre in Liverpool.
In September last year he was moved to Derby House Neurology Care Home, where he remains.
His mother Jo has been living in a campervan in the UK since February 2025.
"With nowhere really to go to, I followed the story of Lockie Kirk and his family and I saw this [sleeping in the campervan] is something Dan had done to try to be close to Lockie and in February 2025 I said 'bring it over'." - Jo Dunne
Jo and her husband Paul Dunne say the family are now preparing their home to bring him back but say they need assistance from the community:
