Environment Minister Boot on emergency declaration
We are ahead of our neighbours.
That's the claim of Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot, after government declared a climate change emergency last Friday morning.
Mr Boot believes claims we are lagging behind other jurisdictions like Jersey, which declared an emergency at the beginning of May, are simply untrue.
He says the Isle of Man, with its UNESCO biosphere status, is ahead of the game in terms of steps already taken:
Plantation wood, telegraph poles and Satnav to be discussed in the House of Keys
Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
