Commissioner says the public doesn't always understand what local authorities are required to provide
A Michael District Commissioner says the Western Civic Amenity Site isn't obliged to provide a reuse shed.
It comes after residents in the west have complained about the recycling facility being closed in recent months.
WCAS has previously stated its reuse garages will remain closed until the site returns to full operational capacity, and has asked residents to store items for recycling until they reopen.
During a debate on local government laws in this week's Legislative Council sitting, Carole Lillywhite said complaints from the public are sometimes due to residents not understanding what local authorities are required to provide:
