Karran seeks assurances
Freedom to flourish for all, not just the few.
That’s the view of an Onchan MHK over corporatisation.
Peter Karran says Tynwald needs to retain some form of control over the Isle of Man Post Office if it is ultimately run as a state-owned private company.
In April, members threw out five of six recommendations contained in an independent report, including a proposal that the Treasury Minister be the sole shareholder of the post office.
Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly has vowed there will be a full consultation on the issue this summer.
Mr Karran wants certain assurances and insists any deal should not include commercial confidentiality.
