Warning of gift card scam 

The warning comes after Manx.net users are being tricked by phishing emails

Isle of Man residents are being warned of a phishing scam involving emails that mention throat pain, laryngitis, or being unable to speak. 

Police say these emails claim the sender cannot speak and urgently needs the victim to purchase a gift card on their behalf.

The warning comes after residents with Manx.net email accounts are being tricked by phishing emails, which give attackers their passwords and lead to account compromises.

Anyone who receives this sort of email is advised to disregard it.
