Motorists urged to slow down
Infrastructure officials are warning motorists to drive with care near any roadworks.
Penalties can be issued if anyone is found to be exceeding temporary speed limits.
Switching lanes to overtake queing traffic and driving through an area marked off by traffic cones is also condemned.
A statement from the Roads Safety Unit has appealed to the public to consider how they would feel if working in the road whilst vehicles speed by.
