Fire crews called out to two incidents
Fire crews had to deal with two bonfires that had spread out of control yesterday.
Appliances from Kirk Michael, Peel and Douglas went to a property on the Bollyn Road, Ballaugh, at about 12.50pm following reports of a bonfire that was spreading to a nearby field.
Crews were quickly able to bring it under control.
At the same time appliances from Port Erin and Douglas were called to a property in Ronague to tackle a bonfire which was spreading to nearby hedges and property.
Using beaters until an additional water supply was established, officers prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby property.
The fire service says both of these incidents serve as a reminder you should exercise extreme caution during this prolonged spell of dry weather.
