Rainfall higher than average
2017 was the 10th warmest year on record but summer was chilly and wet according to Ronaldsway Met Office.
The year started mild with a pleasant late spring but a wet and often windy summer has been followed by an often unsettled end to the year.
A Rainfall total of 987.6mm is 14% above average - only January, April and May were drier than normal.
Sunshine and wind were close to the average but there were only 7 gales registered compared to the 30 year mean of 16.6 days.
And we had hail on 24 days - the highest number since 1995.
