The Government is proposing putting together a committee, chaired by a Minister, to keep an eye on war memorials.
A consultation paper just issued says there are around 500 such memorials around the island and there has been concern about the future of some of them.
The proposal is that there would be five non-Tynwald members with the committee encouraging their 'proper maintenance and upkeep' and avoiding their destruction or removal.
There would be an annual report to the Council of Ministers.
The deadline for views is Friday August 8th.
