Number of drivers across waiting for test slot reaches record high
Data released in the UK suggests more than half a million learner drivers are currently waiting for a test slot - the highest number on record.
The average wait for a test stands at six months.
In contrast the waiting time for a car or motorcycle test in the Isle of Man is estimated at between five and six weeks, based on information obtained from the Department of Infrastructure in October 2025.
When it comes to HGV tests on the Island, they can be arranged in as little as three weeks after an application is received.
