A new outbreak of Winter Vomiting Virus has closed a ward at Noble’s Hospital.
A statement from the Department of Health and Social Security says since Friday there have been a few cases at the facility, among patients and staff.
These are confined to one ward which has closed to admissions as a precaution.
Anybody suffering vomiting or diarrhoea is being advised by the DHSS not to go to the hospital or care homes, and to wait for 48 hours after symptoms have stopped before visiting.
Nobody should return to work until 48 hours after symptoms have ceased.
