'Viral outbreak' puts Noble's on lockdown

Staff at Noble's Hospital are urging members of the public not to visit, after a suspected viral outbreak.

Wards 8 and 5 have been closed after confirmed cases of norovirus and a suspected bout of gastroenterisis.

Patients booked in for elective surgical procedures are being warned that their operations may be cancelled due to a lack of beds.

Anyone suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting is asked to stay away from the A&E department - and to manage symptoms in the seclusion of their own homes if possible.
