The 119th Manx Music Festival is getting under way today (Saturday).
Over the next eight days, around 1,400 people of all ages, including hundreds of schoolchildren, will compete for a range of awards in music, speech and dance.
Judith Ley, who will be reporting from the event for Manx Radio, says it has an enduring appeal (play audio file):

Judith Ley will be presenting highlights from the Manx Music Festival in 'Today at the Guild', which starts at tomorrow (Sunday) at 9pm.
She will also be giving updates on Mandate each weekday morning, and chatting to Alex Brindley at 3.30pm.
