
Organisers of this weekend’s Viking boat races in Peel say the event is more popular than it’s ever been as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The event is set to go ahead from 10am tomorrow morning, with free entertainment around the town as well as the racing in Peel Bay.
Jimmy Lee says the event has a long history dating back to Viking Festivals held in the 1960s.
But he says this year’s half-century has meant a huge jump in the number of teams taking part:
