Public consultation launched to gauge local opinion
Proposals to make National Insurance payments compulsory for older workers are out for consultation - and the Manx public are being encouraged to have their say.
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says those who continue in their jobs after state pension age should also continue to pay NI.
At present, deductions stop at retirement age, giving the employee an effective overnight pay rise.
Just four questions are posed in the consultation, which ends in mid October.
Mr Teare says retaining NI for the whole working population will level an uneven playing field.
