
Building works at Manx Radio have uncovered the charred foundations of a motorised, revolving viewing platform which used to exist here on Douglas Head.
The Warwick Tower had a steam-powered mechanism to raise the platform to the top, then an electrical one to rotate it.
It was opened in time for the 1899 tourist season, but burnt down the following year.
