Vicar's victims may be staying silent

Plea for sufferers to come forward

A senior figure in the Church of England says he is sure other people will have been affected by a former Island vicar's abuse.

Eighty-two-year-old Graham Gregory, of York, was jailed for four years this week after being convicted of multiple counts of historically assaulting children.

The offences date back to the 1970s and 80s, when Gregory was the vicar of St Ninian's Church in Douglas.

Canon John Coldwell has paid tribute to the bravery of those who came forward to give evidence against Gregory - but he also believes there could be more victims locally who have remained silent.
