Funerals of two Island stalwarts
The funeral of two stalwarts in Island life will be held today (Friday).
Peter Farrant was Vicar General of the Island for 21 years until 1995 and both his grandfather and great grandfather were members of the House of Keys.
The former advocate’s funeral will be held in Kirk Braddan at 12.30pm.
Meanwhile, a memorial service will remember former Maughold commissioner and captain of the parish Hazel Lace.
She was on the board of the local authority for more than 20 years and captain of the parish from 2004 until her death on Christmas Eve.
A service commemorating her life will be held at Maughold Parish Church at two o’clock (2pm).
